Water Pollution


Water pollution occurs when there are dangerous substances exposed to water. Such substances may include: sewages, fertilizers, and many more. Such substance harm water creatures and even kill them. For example, when a substance such as oil is introduced poured to water, it prevents air/oxygen from entering the water. The creatures will afterwards die due to lack of enough oxygen. According to the United Nations, there it was proven that 783 million people do not have access to clean water, and almost 2.5 million people lack access to adequate sanitation’. (Bradford, 2018)

How to conserve water

1. Avoid throwing plastics and other harmful substances to water sources.

2. Avoid use of a lot of farm chemicals/ excess farm chemicals.

3. Do not dispose harmful liquid products to the sinks and water bodies.

4. If possible, use water efficient toilets.

5. Clean and maintain septic systems.
